How long it will take from buring a Plungee to installation
We usually require a lead time of approximately 4–6 weeks. This allows time to custom build and pour your concrete Plungee, cure it in the mould, repair and skim the pool, and organise delivery.
A $5,000 deposit is required to begin manufacturing your Plungee. We have limited production and storage capacity, so we like to understand your timeline so we can plan our production schedule accordingly.
Will you deliver the Plungee and how much does this cost?
Depending on whether you have purchased an installed Plungee or a DIY Plungee, we will either deliver and install your Plungee using a truck and Hiab, or work with our local trucking company to transport your Plungee from our yard in Hawke’s Bay to your local Hiab/crane company or directly to site.
For more complex sites, a crane may be required. Delivery costs vary depending on your location and are based on the distance, FAF, time required, and whether a pilot vehicle is required to transport the Round Plungee, which is 3.7m wide and therefore considered a wide load.
Why choose concerete over fiberglass?
Concrete Pools are more durable, versatile, environmentally sensible and much more visually appealing than fiberglass pools. They can be finished in a range of different options such as tiling, plastering, painting or raw concrete. Concrete’s strength ensures long term resilience and easier repairs, making it a cost-effective choice over time. Plungee Pools leverage pre-cast concrete for quick installation while maintaining these superior benefits.
Is there a deposit and what are the payment terms?
- $5000.00 non-refundable deposit due within 5 days of accepting the quote.
- One month later, 50% of the remaining balance is due.
- The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to delivery and installation.
What's included as part of the site preparation for the installation of the plungee
A basic dig-out and base preparation is included as part of your Plungee installation, if you choose this option.
Our team will excavate for your Plungee so that it sits approximately 1.2m above ground level and prepare a level, compacted hard-fill base. Trenching for the plumbing will also be completed.
As every site is different, if the site preparation required goes beyond what is considered standard, any additional excavation time will be charged at the applicable hourly rate for the digger and operator.
Is consent required for the Plungee?
Typically, your Plungee pool doesn’t require a building consent as it falls under the size threshold for requiring consent. However, your pool fencing will require a building consent. Some areas may have specific zoning restrictions, so it’s always first worth checking with your local council.
Is Pool fencing required for the Plungee?
Yes, pool fencing is required by law in New Zealand. If your Plungee is installed 1.2 metres or more above ground level, the concrete walls can act as a compliant barrier. However, any access points, such as steps and decking, will still need to be fenced off, and a building consent for the fencing must be lodged with your local council.
Who will take care of the landscaping around the Plungee?
Once your Plungee is installed, your soft and hard landscaping can be completed around the Plungee to suit your property and how you want to use the space. You will need to install compliant pool fencing. You may also choose to build a deck, pave around the pool, or add planting to create your desired outdoor space.
This is something many people choose to do themselves, or alternatively work with a local landscaper or landscape designer to assist with the design and installation.
What's included as a part of buying a Plungee?
Depending on whether you choose a DIY or installed Plungee, the below is included as standard.
- Your custom poured pre-cast concrete Plungee.
- Internally finished in the epoxy paint colour of your choice.
- Basic site excavation and preparation, so we can deliver and drop in your Plungee (We’ll be there on the day to oversee this.)
- A compacted hardfill base, levelled to sit the Plungee.
- An underwater multi coloured LED light.
- Two water jets.
- A skimmer box.
- A waterco 75hp pump
- A hydrochlor ST 1000 Salt/Mineral Chlorinator.
- A sand/glass filter drum.
- Pipes and plumbing to connect it all up to 5 meters from the Plungee.
- A small concrete pad to sit the pump and filtration kit.
(The included kit is valued at over $5000.00).
What's not included as a part of of buying a Plungee?
- The delivery costs.
- Your Pool fencing and the building consent application process for your pool fencing.
- An electrician to connect your pump and filter.
- The cartage cost and dumping fees for soil removal.
- Any soft or hard landscaping around your Plungee that you may wish to do after installation.
- Any additional add-ons such as a heat pump or a pool cover.
Is it an option to have the Plungee fully tiled or finished in Hydrazzo plaster?
Your Plungee can be finished in a variety of options which is one of the many benefits of a concrete pool. If your want to fully tile it, or finish it in a hydrazoo plaster, you can use local tradesmen to create your finishing of your choice once the raw concrete pool is in place at your property.
